‘Mayfair Dali’

is one of the latest works from the sought-after Dali Collection by contemporary artist Alex Di Silvestro.

This unique original interpretation was created in an unconventional reverse process: the painting began with the discovery of a one-off stunning vintage frame. Its sculptural silver form inspired the artist to develop subject, composition and colour palette specifically around the frame, making the frame an integral part of the artwork.

The frame was sitting in the artist studio until an upcoming trip of the artist to a London Art event, involving Binghatti luxury properties of Dubai, sparked the final inspiration to fill the frame.

The subject, a Dandy Dali, from the artist first trilogy, is here repeated as a hipster gentleman, wearing a quintessentially British pin striped jacket with a plush velvet collar.

The artist’s Triple Bolt logo crossing the face, adds a personal contemporary signature to the surrealist portrait. The cosmic pink-and-black atmosphere was inspired by the total solar eclipse of 12th August 2026, during which the work was painted, introducing a unique celestial dimension.

The result is a distinctive fusion of British culture, Dali – inspired surrealism, personal symbolism, vintage design and even astronomic time, conceived as one complete artwork rather than a painting simply placed within a frame..
