For too long, art has been treated as the finishing touch of a project, a final decorative element selected once the architecture is complete, the interiors installed, and the furniture in place.
I believe this approach misses one of the greatest opportunities in contemporary design.
The most memorable places are rarely defined by architecture alone. They are remembered because they create an emotional connection. They tell a story, communicate an identity, and leave a lasting impression on the people who experience them.
That is where art has the greatest value.
Not as decoration.
Not as something to fill an empty wall.
But as an integral part of the visual language of a space.
My own journey into fine art did not begin in a traditional art studio. It evolved through decades of a professional career in visual identity, luxury fashion – haute couture and interior design. Those disciplines taught me that every visual decision influences how people perceive a place, a brand and an experience.
Each project was carried out as an aesthetic problem solving, delivering an artistic idea through a creative process for a very specific result, a result that ultimately serves as a connector between a brand and its own unique audience.
Today, that philosophy shapes most of the artworks I create.
I don’t begin just with the canvas or sketch.
I also begin with the space, I envision the final space where the artwork goes. The client’s own residence, the business, the hotel lobby or private club hall.
Want to know a crazy story?
I have recently delivered, spatially integrated and installed two of my best original paintings in a client’s home. I didn’t know the home, I didn’t know the client. But when I entered the villa, I felt like I had been there before. The space was matching my own imagination at the time of painting the artworks, when envisioning the final wall destination!
Who will experience it?
What emotions should it evoke?
What identity should it communicate?
Whether the project is a luxury residence, boutique hotel, corporate headquarters, hospitality venue or branded environment, art has the potential to become something far more valuable than an aesthetic addition. It can become the emotional anchor that gives a place character, memory and distinction.
As developments around the world become increasingly sophisticated, architecture alone is no longer enough to differentiate one destination from another. Materials, finishes and technology can all be replicated.
Identity cannot.
This is why I believe developers, architects, interior designers and art consultants should no longer view art as a procurement exercise, but as part of the design strategy itself.
The strongest projects are created when architecture, interiors and art are conceived as one coherent narrative.
When that happens, the artwork doesn’t simply occupy a space.
It becomes part of the reason people remember it.
It tells the story of the space.
It emotionally connects a unique space with its audience.
It generates marketing.
Art is no longer a purchase, but both asset and investment.
What if the project is completed and still want to invest in a bespoke integrated artwork?
That’s where I can truly make the difference, with my bespoke – commercial service.
